Meet The Author

Catalog of Giorgio Laveri's anthological exhibition (Monumental complex of the Priamar, Savona, 3 December 2016 – 8 January 2017) dedicated to his forty-five years of commitment to the world of art.

A long career lived between art and visual experimentation that of the director-ceramist Giorgio Laveri, protagonist of this articulated anthology edited by art critic Giorgia Cassini who comments: "An exhibition in the name of art, of playfulness and spirit out of the ordinary is what I have the pleasure of curating as an important tribute dedicated to this very valuable Master, a dutiful tribute to one of the most significant artists on the international scene.
An anthology dedicated to an artist educated in polidisciplinarity, but not a victim of this, performance author, of installations and artistic creations developed within a balanced blend of figurative and thematic ideas, as well as persuasive scenographic aspects and expressive clarity.
An exhibition that documents both the ironic side of inimitable ingenuity and the design expertise, at the same time revealing the creative path that leads from function to creation, then to decoration and finally to emotion ".
Through ceramics, his most common means of expression, passing by the cinema, to theater and experimentation between different disciplines, from 1972 to the 2016 Giorgio Laveri has activated about three hundred events in Italy and around the world.
His works are exhibited in the most important museums in the world, in addition, the stable collaboration with some of the best Italian and foreign galleries, has allowed a widespread diffusion of the joint work with ceramic sculpture that comes from the historical belonging to the artistic colony of Albissola, known all over the world for having elevated ceramics to a greater art.
