Volume published on the occasion of the exhibition “nerosunero. A timeless desire ", Sixth Sense Art Gallery, Rome, 15 March – 5 April 2018.
Mario Sughi (aka Nerosunero) works on the re-elaboration of daily practice through an ambiguous contemplation of the body and places. As a modern traveler he observes reality with a mixed attitude of detachment and participation, a virtual "man of the crowd", invisible yet subtly present in grasping, in the vagueness of the usual, a track (theatrical) of desire and libido.
Thomas the Evangelist
His figures, predominantly female, they are depicted in their everyday life: lie down on the lawns, on beaches, on terraces or by the pool, I am always looking for tranquility, a calm place to rest and reflect, as if to stop the time that passes too quickly and that at times seems to escape us and vanish. Every time I look at a work by Mario Sughi, I feel a feeling of harmony and it is as if I observe reality from the outside and perceive every single facet.
