Catalog published on the occasion of the exhibition “Francesca Romana Pinzari. Ouroboros”, Riccardo Costantini Contemporary, Turin, 17 May – 16 June 2018, prize awarded to the artist as part of the Arteam Cup 2016.
A forest of ropes lowered from the ceiling and laid on the floor, on which thick mineral concretions clump together: at the heart of the exhibition "Ouroboros" by Francesca Romana Pinzari, the viewer finds himself crossing a mystical place that looks like a legacy of the forest of columns of the crypts dug into the belly of medieval churches. But there is no stability of pillars in the environmental installation built in the halls of the Riccardo Costantini Contemporary gallery in Turin, rather the sinuous softness of a petrified tropical forest, with lianas or aerial roots to organize the space, to parcel it out, to divert the path of use and to modify its linearity. The audience walks between the ropes, it touches them and multiplies them, with its passage, the points of view, measuring the pace of a progressive approach or departure from the revelation of a mystery.
