Catalog of the Marco Magnani Award 2013 – young artists.

Mutabilità – Roads of the possible is a title that refers to a concept of uncertainty closely related to the moment we are living e, not by chance, The Marco Magnani Association reflected on what function art can have in times of crisis by designing this theme for the edition of the Marco Magnani Prize 2013. Edition of the Prize characterized by the choice to leave the places usually used for art and used as exhibition spaces to be present in the city in a more easily accessible way by the public with an unusual contamination of the historic center. Not because it is not believed that museums, picture galleries and galleries play a fundamental and useful role, but to convey the message that intangible culture can be an important resource especially for a territory that is experiencing problems. Some commercial establishments in the city of Sassari have hosted the works of artists in their shop windows, giving life to a street gallery with unsettling connotations for those who wander among the shops and expect to see only the "merchandise" on display.
In some cases the showcase becomes an occasion for reflection on the display system itself (Marion Moncunill); at other times it is a coveted for a neo-mythological vision with new languages that also find space in Sardinia (Antoni Hervas); or niches that trap tiny superheroes in their attempt to escape from the dimension of the comic (Martin Vitality); and finally a playful colored extension of grids and modules that hypnotically undermine the canonical thought of art (David the Boy).
The selection of the artists was curated by Glòria Picazo, director of the Center d’Art la Panera in Lleida, with which the Marco Magnani Association has been collaborating for years with the aim of building relationships of exchange and interaction.
Another innovation of this edition consists in creating a section dedicated to hosting a Sardinian curator, Giangavino Pazzola, and two artists proposed by him, Enrico Piras and Enrico Pitzianti. The reason for activating these collaborations is to make the comparison between the local realities operating on the island and beyond, and the experiences present on the international scene.
