Alessandro Giampaoli. In this still green depth

Volume published on the occasion of the exhibition Alessandro Giampaoli. In this still green depth, edited by Leonardo Regano, presented at the “Osvaldo Licini” Contemporary Art Gallery in Ascoli Piceno, from 4 October to 23 November 2025. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Zamagni Galleria d'Arte and with the organizational support of AnimaFemina Associazione Culturale.

In dialogue with the work of Osvaldo Licini, which takes on a central aspect in this project, Giampaoli's work relates to the theme of landscape which, as he states Leonardo Regano, curator of the exhibition, it is not a simple representation of a place but an apparition of: «thresholds: doors open towards an elsewhere that cannot be crossed, but one that irresistibly attracts. Each canvas thus becomes a place of waiting and electrocution, where our gaze moves between memory and desire, between mourning and promise. The image does not provide any certainty, but it presents us with a puzzle: it reminds us that belonging to the world also means accepting its distance, inhabit its mystery".
