This volume explores the themes dealt with in the exhibition Gea Casolaro. Very visible, too invisible held since 30 September to 20 December 2019 presso The Gallery Apart, Rome.

[…] Casolaro's works try to maintain a relationship of solidarity with reality, from the aesthetic level we slip into the ethical level and therefore beyond to look and consider, we are called to do, as when we imperceptibly move in front of his works, let's take a stand.
It could therefore be said that in Gea Casolaro's work everything starts from the gaze, but from a look that occupies a dialectical position, between himself and the world and that projects us outside of us, it rests on what surrounds us, chooses, soppesa, currency, recognizes, then meets and assumes a political role.
As Nicholas Mirzoeff reminds us, we look thinking, and looking - that is, paying attention to the world in its appearances - is already a form of activism.
In fact, it is no coincidence that the media that the artist prefers are photography and video, as well as in many works you use reflective surfaces and references to optical instruments: they are metaphors of the eye, devices through which the artist invites us to think about our relationship with each other and with the world, placing poetics and a politics of gaze at the center of his analysis, and at the same time proposing to broaden its boundaries by adopting points of view that do not always match our time and space.
