The box set Different Skin, in limited edition a 100 pieces, contains the volume of the same name: a collection of photo compositions by George Bormida, freely inspired by the rings of Boneyard Skullrings (boneyardskullrings.com) of Big Paul Ferguson (drummer and co-founder of the British musical group Killing Joke).
“Here you will find images […] which allude to different materials, from the physicality of marble to the incorporeality of tissue paper. Identities of the past and possible forms that will come back to life and a story still to be written are lost. After all, imagination is a repertoire of potential, of the hypothetical, of what neither is nor was nor perhaps will be but could have been.” The artist says.
Big Paul Ferguson opens the volume with these words:
“In these images Giorgio Bormida conveys atmospheres of Victorian romanticism, fleeting and ghostly evocations of Poe that speak to the unconscious. Like clouds: mysterious, suggestive, beautiful. A delicate counterpoint to the digital world, hard and clear, to which we are now accustomed. I am delighted that he is presenting a collection of his most recent works here.”
Inside the box we also find the print of a work signed by the author and a set of four pins depicting some of his creations.
