Igor Grigoletto

Igor Grigoletto He was born on 1972 in Sanremo, where he lives and works.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Imperia in the pictorial decoration section, he decides to continue his studies by attending the Albertina Academy in Turin in the painting section. He collaborates with theater companies where he designs and creates scenic backdrops for the theater company "l'utopia ossia filocomica" inside the Ariston Theater in Sanremo.

He attended a private course in Tiffany glass processing and from here he began his artisan activity where in his career he had the opportunity to make himself known thanks to his inspiration which differentiates him from his colleagues. In the early years he created and exhibited collections of modern furnishing accessories both in Sanremo and in Parma, of design made with an ancient technique, the Tiffany technique.

In this period he also received the La Stampa award and the "OPASI" award for the design of marble furnishings.

The call of the canvas and the colors bring him back to the old steps, so in the 2018 he resumes producing paintings which lead him to a crescendo of works.

After working on various supports such as jute bags, fiscoli o sportine, wire mesh and metal sculptures, he has returned to the matter he knows and works best: the glass.

The study of the line, in all its forms it arises from the search for signs, “letters” that emerge from the surfaces thanks to the crossing of underlying lines, not visible but present. The works seem like an endless succession of writings, who do not obey, apparently, with codes but with a free aesthetic.
