Giacomo Luxury
Giacomo Luxury was born in Malles Venosta (BZ) in 1953, lives and works in Albissola Marina (SV).
The artist's first solo exhibition dates back to 1972. Always an experimenter, has developed a research path that embraces different expressive techniques, ranging from ceramics to painting up to the creation of conceptual actions. A distinctive feature of his art is the constant presence of the "Three Signs", symbols of knowledge, which characterize his expressive language.
From 1990, he abandoned the "retinal" representation for a continuous search in describing feelings and sensations. In 2007 was selected for the VIII International Ceramics Biennial of Manises, in Spain, and since then one of his works has been permanently exhibited at the International Museum of Ceramics.
In 2008 participated in First Author: Giacomo Luxury - Works, as well as the exhibition I travel inside at the Civic Hall of Contemporary Art in Albissola Marina (SV). In 2010, on the occasion of the 50th edition of the Castellamonte Ceramics Exhibition (TO), a personal exhibition was dedicated to him, Alchemical tales, set up at the D'Andrade Museum in Pavone Canavese (TO).
Parallel, explored the relationship between ceramics and literature, illustrating a numbered and signed edition of the art book with ceramic works Air and Fire, a collection of poems by Raphael Monticelli, published by Diane Française of Nice. The volume is now preserved at the Bibliothèque Nucera in Nice and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. Always in Nice, exhibited at the Quadrige Gallery in the exhibition A ceramic sheet.
In 2011 he was invited to exhibit at the 54th Venice Biennale – Italian Pavilion, Turin Exhibitions. The following year, the Municipality of Montelupo Fiorentino dedicated a personal exhibition space to him as part of the International Ceramics Festival.
Among his main solo exhibitions are: The Poetics of Signs at the Sanremo Casino e, in 2015, the anthology The Poetics of Signs set up in the Monumental Complex of Finalborgo. In 2018 presented the exhibition From the sea the Signs in the exhibition rooms of the Sforzesco Castle in Vigevano.
In the same year he received, together with Carlo Sipsz, the second prize purchase at the Castellamonte International Ceramics Competition with the work Love letters to ceramics. The following year, the two artists were invited, with a large ceramic work entitled The flight, tribute to Giuseppe Capogrossi, at the show And Kandinsky in Botero set up at Palazzo Zaguri in Venice and documented in the Skira catalogue.
In the following years, continued his exhibition journey with the Alchemical Hyperpyramids, exhibited in the Ceramics Museum of Palazzo Botton in Castellamonte (2020) and in the Trucco Ceramics Museum in Albisola (2022).
In 2025 the great exhibition is set up Poetics of signs, which collects ceramics and paintings in the rooms of the Commissioner's Palace at the Priamàr Fortress in Savona.
His works are present in numerous public and private collections, as well as in permanent installations in Albissola Marina (SV), Savona, Ligurian final (SV), Peacock Canavese (TO), Vico Pancellorum (LU), His work has been exhibited (SV), Castellamonte (TO), Liveglia (PR) and Toirano (SV).
